Setting
the Agenda for the Future, which sets out the Foundation for
Integrated Medicine's strategy for the next five years, has been
launched by the Foundation's president, HRH The Prince of Wales.
The strategy, which was developed after wide consultation, calls
for wider and safer access to complementary medicine and
integrated healthcare. Regulation plays a key role in this broad
and exciting vision. The strategy states: "Every person
should have access to the treatment approach of their choice,
safe in the knowledge that it is effective and well
regulated." Regulation builds on the positive work achieved
by practitioners and patients over many years and allows the
professions to work with a strong and unified voice. HRH The
Prince of Wales acknowledged the progress made by the main
complementary professions and said: "I look forward to
further developments of regulatory frameworks enabling high
standards of training, clinical practice and professional
behaviour."
