About the APNT

Professional Representation The Association aims to represent its members in educational, professional and political matters. To this end the Association is a member of and plays a very active role in the following professional bodies:
Insurance Cover The
association provides its members with competitive insurance cover for
public liability and professional practice, as well as ALL RISKS cover for
equipment and stock. Furthermore, the one single premium insures the
member to practice any, or all, of the therapies represented by the
Association, and in which a qualification is held. Student members may
also be covered on a non-professional basis, whilst in training. APNT Members Register A
Register of Members is
compiled regularly and is available
to the public in hard copy and via the website. It contains
information about the Association, the therapies represented, approved
schools and APNT practitioners. Through the website
and Register, the APNT functions as an information source to the
public and a support network for therapists, facilitating communication
between APNT members. In Touch Newsletter Our newsletter, In-Touch contains up-to-date information from the many umbrella bodies the Association has links with. In addition, useful articles are published on practical aspects of physical therapy, such as the results of recent research. Members are encouraged to write in with any comments, suggestions, research and to seek advice. Promotion of members By way of promoting its members, the association:
Constitution The association's constitution was finalised and approved in April 1986. Any changes to the same constitution have to be agreed unanimously by the current executive committee. To

here ] Code of Ethics Under the terms of the constitution the association provides each member with a code of ethics and guidance on professional conduct. These relate to the practice of any of the therapies represented by the association. The code of ethics reflects and includes those of the BCMA of which the APNT is a member organisation. the terms of the constitution the association is run by an executive
committee which is re-elected annually at the AGM. The committee
comprises: Chairman & Vice Chairman Secretary Treasurer Committee
members. Sub-committees represent the various therapies and activities of
