How would you benefit from being an APNT Member ?

Professional Representation

The Association aims to represent its members in educational, professional and political matters. To this end the Association is a member of and plays a very active role in the following professional bodies:

  • British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA)

  • Aromatherapy Consortium (AC)

Insurance Cover

The association provides its members with competitive insurance cover for public liability and professional practice, as well as ALL RISKS cover for equipment and stock. Furthermore, the one single premium insures the member to practice any, or all, of the therapies represented by the Association, and in which a qualification is held. Student members may also be covered on a non-professional basis, whilst in training.

APNT Members Register

A Register of Members is compiled regularly and is available to the public in hard copy and via the website.  It contains information about the Association, the therapies represented, approved schools and APNT practitioners. Through the website and Register, the APNT functions as an information source to the public and a support network for therapists, facilitating communication between APNT members.

In Touch Newsletter

Our newsletter, In-Touch contains up-to-date information from the many umbrella bodies the Association has links with. In addition, useful articles are published on practical aspects of physical therapy, such as the results of recent research. Members are encouraged to write in with any comments, suggestions, research and to seek advice.

Promotion of members

By way of promoting its members, the association:

  • Runs regular adverts in national magazines

  • Publishes and makes available promotional leaflets which the members can distribute and display in their practices

  • Whenever feasible it takes part in exhibitions and events which offer a promotional opportunity

  • Produces and makes available to its members lapel badges, tee shirts and sweat shirts.

Constitution

The association's constitution was finalised and approved in April 1986. Any changes to the same constitution have to be agreed unanimously by the current executive committee.
